Michael Lynn Bolyard

Michael (Mike) Lynn Bolyard, 67, of Morgantown passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Mon Health Medical Center. He was born February 25, 1957 in Morgantown, a son of the late Beryl and Kathaleen (Rogers) Bolyard.
Mike was a 1975 graduate of Morgantown High School and a member of Suncrest United Methodist Church. While in high school, he was known as "Beanie" because of his time on the MHS basketball team. In the 1980's, he owned Fairmont Auto Parts which later became Automotive Color Technology. He then went on to the University of Phoenix, earning his degree in accounting and working at H&R Block for many years. In his free time he enjoyed WVU athletics, woodworking, and coaching softball. Despite his best efforts, he was a band dad. Mike never missed a game while his daughter was in the band. He loved his family.
Mike is survived by his wife of 30 years, Leah A. Bolyard; daughters, Kasey Long and her husband Lonnie, Lindsay Powroznik and her husband Logan; sister, Judy Jones and her husband Tom; and brother-in-law, Tom Albertazzie and brother-in-law Stanley Dudzik.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Susan Albertazzie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to WVU Marching Band Practice Field or MHS Girls Softball or to a charity of your choice.
Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Thursday, August 15th from 5PM to 8PM, and again on Friday, August 16th from 10AM until the time of the funeral service at 11AM with Rev. Michael Atkinson officiating.
Burial will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
