Michael Bongo

Michael Bongo, 94 of Princeton, passed away on Sunday June 1, 2025. Born in Newark and raised in Nutley, he was the son of the late Thomas and Catherine Anizelli Bongo. Michael lived in Belleville for many years before moving to Easton, PA after retirement. After many years, he then moved to Princeton. He was a customer service representative with Magruder Color Co. in Elizabeth, retiring in 1995. He was bingo volunteer at St. Mary's Parish in Nutley and also a member and volunteer of St. Rocco's Parish in Martins Creek, PA. Michael was a proud U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He had served aboard the amphibious attack transport, USS Bexar (APA-237) and the landing craft repair ship, USS Krishna (APR-38).
Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Rose (Cornacchio) Bongo, his daughters, Lucianne Smith and Lisa Postiglione and 4 grandchildren, Marissa Smith (Greg Riggio), Tyler Postiglione, Jessica Smith and Grace Postiglione (John Welch).
A private committal service will be held at a later date.
