Michael Booker Obituary
Petersham - Michael J. Booker, 44 of Petersham, unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2021. Michael was born in Hartford, CT on June 26, 1976 to Roland Booker and Carlene (Jacques) Booker. He graduated from Leominster High School in 1994. He attended WPI and obtained his Bachelor's Degree in 1998. He worked as a software engineer and in later years became a senior software engineer working for Micro-focus out of Cambridge, MA. He and his wife Georgia lived in Watertown for many years. He loved trying new places and things with Georgia and over the past four years have been spending their winters in Pompano Beach, FL. He loved good whiskey, craft beers, playing pool, video games, hanging out with his family and friends, playing his guitar and concerts. He loved his job, loved reading and learning new things. He had an incredibly huge heart with an infectious laugh. He loved telling jokes and he enjoyed a good debate. Everyone who met Mike liked him and he will be greatly missed. He leaves his wife and the love of his life: Georgia G. (Barnes) Booker of Petersham, MA; his mother: Carlene Booker of Leominster; his father: Roland Booker of Fitchburg; brothers: James Booker of Leominster, Robert Booker of Billerica; sister: Lori Merriam of Maryland; and his good little dog Frankie; paternal grandparents: Roland and Mona Booker of CT; maternal grandmother: Gwen Jacques of Bangor, ME; mother-in-law: Rexine Barnes of Petersham; sister-in-law Kate Martinez of San Antonio, TX; brother-in-law: Rob Ricciardi of Lakeworth, FL; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather Roger Jacques. Calling hours will be held Saturday, May 15, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. followed by a short memorial service in the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Rd., Orange. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Michael can be made to: Make-A-Wish Foundation, 133 Federal St., 2nd Floor, Boston, MA 02110. The words written reflect a person who truly will be missed..doesn't matter how long you've known Mike or how many times you've gotten together you became his friend...you could feel his heart and his sincerity instantly
It is a pleasure to have known Mike and he'll forever be in the hearts of those he held dear to him. My heart breaks for Georgia and she'll always be in my thoughts and prayers as she deals with her grief and loss...God bless my sweet girl XOXO See you soon to give you hugs

One of the things I always appreciated about Mike is that whenever you were with him, you always wanted to be on your "A" game. He had an inherent ability to quietly ask the thought provoking questions that you wished you'd thought of beforehand! He had that way about him that could challenge you to get the best result.
We'll miss you, Mike. You always helped us to raise the bar.

Our deepest condolences to the Booker Family and to Georgia. A wonderful man died much too young! Michael lived in my parents' apartment in Watertown for many years and was the ideal thoughtful tenant and a faithful friend to our family, especially my son. We are heartbroken at your loss.
