Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Michael George Borges, 69, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024 at his home in Brigham City, Utah.
He was born on June 4, 1955 in New Bedford, Massachusetts, a son of John George and Millicent Celeste Staubley Borges.
Mike graduated from Loara Brea High School in 1973. He married his sweetheart, Sherrie Lynn Leebert on July 5, 1975 in LaPalma, California.
Mike is a member of the Catholic Church.
He was employed as an aerospace engineer at Parker Hannifin starting on October 4, 1974 and retired on June 1, 2019 after 45 years.
Mike loved fishing, jet skiing, camping, motorcross, Nascar, RVing with his family and loved spending time with his grandkids.
Surviving is his wife, Sherrie; three children, Christopher “Chris” (Mandy) Borges; Joshua (Vanessa) Borges; Sommer (Ernest) Shaw; 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; two sisters, Corrine Borges and Joy Montejano.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Brigham City First Ward, 236 E. 100 S. Live streaming will be available at www.gilliesmortuary.com under Michael George Borges.
Viewings will be held at the Brigham City First Ward Relief Society Room from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024 and on Friday, Oct. 25th from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the church.
Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
