Michael A. Bowers, born on May 8, 1951, in Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully in Knoxville, Tennessee, on October 13, 2024, with his family by his side. Mike lived a fulfilling life, marked by dedication to his career and a deep commitment to his loved ones.

A graduate of Dixie High School, Mike embarked on a successful career at General Motors, from which he later retired. His professional journey was complemented by a variety of personal interests that brought him joy. Throughout his life, Mike found great pleasure in camping, fishing, and taking long drives in his beloved Corvette. These simple joys became cherished memories for him and the family that loved him.

Mike was not only a devoted husband to his wife, Janet, but also a proud father and grandfather. He is survived by his son Jeff Bowers, who is married to Shawnda, and his cherished grandchildren, Troy Bowers and his fiancée Nicole, Taylor Ashley and her husband Beau. Mikes family was his pride and joy, and the bonds he created with them were foundational to his life.

In addition to his immediate family, Mike is survived by his sisters-in-law Cindi Bowers and Nancy (Roger) Winterbotham, along with his brother-in-law Ron Peck (Brenda), as well as numerous cousins, extended family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Austin and Louise (Brown) Bowers, his brother Kevin Bowers, and his in-laws John and Carolyn Wellbaum.

The family will then receive friends for a visitation on Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 4:00 PM, both to be held at Trinity Church of New Lebanon, located at 1830 W Main Street, New Lebanon, Ohio.

Mike leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. His family and friends will forever remember him as a man who embraced life and deeply treasured his family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Trinity Church of New Lebanon in memory of Mike.
