Michael Lee "Mike" Bridges

Michael Lee "Mike" Bridges, 70, of Laurens, and husband of Edwina Manning Bridges, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at the VIA Hospice House in Clinton.
Born in Chattanooga, TN, Mike was the son of the late Walter Lee and Cleo Virginia Mahan Bridges. He retired as the County Supervisor for SC Department of Education, Transportation Office, in Greenwood County. He also coached football in five school districts including Asheville, Christ Church Episcopal School, Greenwood, Ware Shoals, and two different stints in Laurens. Mike was a friend and mentor to many people, young and old, through the years as a coach and musician. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter Ashley Bridges Rowland (Michael) of Laurens; grandchildren, Zachary Bridges and Anna Gray Rowland; a cousin whom he considered a brother, Jerry "Butch" Hullander (Marcella) of Ringgold, GA; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Upstate Church Laurens (formerly Hillcrest Baptist) conducted by Dr. Greg Hellams. The church is located at 216 Independence Avenue, Laurens, SC 29360.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
