Michael Ernest Bruner

Michael Ernest Bruner, of Temple passed away on December 19,2024. He was born to Ernest and Margie Bane Bruner on February 3, 1948, in Pasadena, Texas. 

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 23, 2024, at Salado Church of Christ with Minister Joe Keyes officiating. His visitation will be held one hour before services at Salado Church of Christ.

Mike graduated from Liberty High School in  Liberty, Texas. in 1966. He played football from grade school to college at Sam Houston State University of Huntsville and graduated with a bachelors degree in physical education and sociology in 1971.

Mike married the love of his life Barbara Herrington on September 30,1981, in Bell County. They opened Road Runner Mobile Examiners in 1991 expanding into drug, alcohol and paternity testing.

 Mikes passion was cooking and he worked for oil rigs cooking for the workers in Oklahoma and Dominican Republican. 
He loved animals, Nascar, football, movies, music, and cars. As a child he played football and baseball, was interested in architecture, model cars, enjoyed sculpting with modeling clay , and always making little things for his daughter. He loved spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years Barbara Herrington Bruner of Temple; one son, Michael Lynn Drake and Wife Shannon of Killeen; two daughters, Lisa Michelle and husband Donald Brantner of Temple and Devin Bruner of Temple; three brothers, Keith Bruner and wife Denise of Belton, David Lee Bruner  of Cleveland, TX. and Kenneth Bane Bruner of Grove, TX. ; one grandson, Hayden Charles Drake of Belton; his beloved dog Kai.

His burial will be in the Herrington Family Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers the family request donations toward funeral expenses.
