Michael Wayne Buckley, 67, of Oklahoma City, OK went to be with the Lord on May 20, 2025 in Oklahoma City, OK. Michael was born on August 17, 1957 in Talihina, OK to Kozy and Lorene (Jackson) Buckley. At the time of his passing he was married for 37 years to the love of his life Olivia Hail which they married on September 25, 1987. As a young boy you could see him and his dad Kozy Buckley mowing many yards in Weleetka. He attended Weleetka Public Schools his whole life where he was proud to be a quarterback of the Weleetka Outlaw football team and graduated in 1975. He went on to study at Northeastern State University for a short time before having three kids Michael Wayne Buckley, Thomasen Marie Buckley, and Myra Jean Buckley. During this time he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp at which he was a Lance Corporal and a Field Radio Operator stationed in Yuma, Az where he served his country with pride and honor. After serving his country he worked for Bama Pie Company in Tulsa, OK and then moving to Oklahoma City working as a driver for Laidlaw Waste Company covering the city of Guthrie, OK. At this time of his life is when he married his wife Olivia and welcomed two stepdaughters to his family Dionne Kay (Boyiddle) Shemayme and Mary Frances (Boyiddle) Mills. Then he began his Federal Government career in Maryland first as an Indian Health Service's (IHS) driver for several top-level Headquarter Directors. Then as a Correspondence Specialist in the Executive Secretariat office where he finally retired after many years. Michael Wayne was proud to be a full blood Muscogee Creek citizen and a member of Sand Creek Baptist Church of Wetumka, OK where he was baptized as a young boy. He also, attended worship services with his wife Olivia at her church Indian Community Church located in north OKC. He loved to fish, play pool, listen to rock music and was a HUGE fan of the OU football team. Go OU (Boomer Sooner!) as he would be yelling from the living room. He also loved the Washington Nationals of D.C. (Go Nats!) Michael is preceded in death by Maternal Grandparents Timmie and Luella Jackson, Paternal Grandparents Rufus and Gussie Buckley, Parents Lorene and Kozy Buckley Sr., Sister Nancy and Brother-in-law Leonard Frazier, Brother Kozy (June) Buckley Jr., stepdaughters Dionne Shemayme (Grandkids Stevie & Denyse) & Mary Mills, and Niece Dana Harjo. Eight Jackson Uncle's Tecumseh (Alice), Billy Jo, Louie (Kathleen), Thomas, Joe (Flora), Jackie, Andrew, Jacob and three Aunts Suzanna (Sam), Betty, and Wilma. Michael is survived by his son Michael Buckley; grandkids Brandon, Angela (GG-Ezra & Lexi), Joey, & Addison. His daughter Thomasen Buckley; grandkids Tyra (GG-AJ), Mekaylah, Inessa, Cavin Sr. (GG-Cavin Jr/Baby June), Isaac and daughter Myra Buckley; grandkids Kelvin, Tatyana (GG-Ariella), Jahidi (GG-Tavion), & Jamia. Grandkids Jeffrey (GG-Steven & Jayrel), Noah, Bryan, Vivianna, Brandon and grandkids Orion (GG-Luciano), Bayork (GG-Mariposa & Aleck), and Skyla (GG-Genesis, Daniel, & Arabella). He is also survived by his sisters Rhonda (Gary), Gussie, and Belinda (Charlie). His Uncle Robert and Aunts Diane, Karen, & Molly. Serving as Pallbearers are Brandon Buckley Isaac Pugh Cavin Pugh Noah Bautista Bryan Bautista Brandon Bautista Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are Curtis Smith Robert Jackson Jeffrey Shemayma Rylan Hicks Sr Albert Harjo Joey Buckley Brian Buckley Kelvin Medina Officiating will be Rev. Ed Lindsey assisted by Bro. Melvin Battiest Visitation and a small Servie is scheduled for Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at Williamson Spradlin Funeral Home Wake Service is scheduled for Friday May 23 7:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Weleetka Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, May 24 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Interment will follow at Weleetka Cemetery.
