Travis Cox Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home - Wetumka on Feb. 2, 2026.
Travis Don Cox was born April 10, 1959, in Bakersfield, California to Terrel Cox and Shirley LaFave Cox and passed from this life at his home in Dustin at the age of 66.

Travis spent his earliest years in California but came to the Dustin, Oklahoma area with his family at a young age. He attended Dustin Public School.

As a young man he was married to Judy Dunn, and to this union four children were born. He began his vocation as a construction worker, first as part of a bridge building crew. He later became proficient as a heavy equipment operator and used those skills on various construction projects.

As a younger man without many of the physical restrictions he later acquired, he enjoyed the outdoors where he liked to hunt and fish.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Terrel and Shirley.

Survivors include: his children, Travis Cox, Jr. and wife Jennifer of Scipio, Gregory Cox of Lamar, Tyler Cox of Seminole, and Shelby Cox of Dustin; his siblings Ray Cox of Wister, Billy Cox and Wesley Cox of Henryetta, and Kathryn Cox and Caroline VanMeter of Dustin; along with 16 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A private family memorial service will be planned for a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home of Wetumka.
