Michael J. Card
Age 76, of Au Gres, Michigan, passed away on September 12, 2025, in Saginaw, Michigan. Michael was born to the late Charles and Sarah Beatrice (Tesch) Card on March 14, 1949, in West Branch, Michigan. He spent his childhood growing up in Rose City, Michigan, and following his high school graduation, he went on to be a Tool & Dye apprentice for Chrysler. Tool & Dye making eventually became his profession for several years, but Michael also spent time working several other jobs. He worked at Ferro's, and Insulation Company, a Dairy Farm, as a Tool & Dye teacher at West Shore Community College, Quigley Tool & Dye, Bolthouse Tool & Dye, Coldsaws, Header Products, the Shell gas station, Gath Trucking, Steig Trucking, AMX Escanaba, and Griffith Beverage. Michael eventually retired from work in 2010 after several hardworking years.
Michael married the love of his life, Norma Card, on August 4, 1979. The two of them shared 46 amazing years of marriage together and raised a family of six children. Some of Michael's favorite hobbies included being an actor for plays in Tawas, wood carving, writing, playing cards, trail riding, dirt biking, watching Tiger games, and most importantly spending quality time with his family and friends. Michael belonged to the Writing Club in West Branch, and the Rose City Savages.
Michael is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Norma Card; children, Michael Card II, Vicky (Nate Taylor) Card, Robert (Liz Rifenbark) Card, Daniel (Amber Treichel), and Sarah (Victor Clark) Card; brothers, Bill (Connie) Card and Donald (Gail) Card; sisters, Evelyn (Fred) Delaney, Linda Wend, and Connie Clark; grandchildren, Ean, Jaedyn, Judah, Kyle, LiLyona, Seth, Sophie, and Teah; brothers in law, Curtis (Mary Call) Weinert and Ed Weinert; sisters in law, Janice Weinert and Nancy Basil; nieces and nephews, Pat (Trish) Delaney, Sean Delaney, Becky (Jim) Meir, Dawn (Bruce) Kearns, David (Nicole) Wend, Doug (Dawn) Card, Christine (Rick) Losinger, James Clark, Joe Clark, Jody (Jim) Rickert, Jim (Missy) Weinert, Steve Weinert, Karen (Mike) Bareither, Julie (Chance) Hunter, Joe (Jody) Weinert, Richard (Michele) Young, Bonnie Waldinger, Ken Weinert, Kathy Weinert, Christina (Thomas) Lawler, Mary Raymond, Gary (Caitlyn) Weinert, Stacy (Roger) Gildner, and Jason (April) Card.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Beatrice Card; sister, Jane Griffith; brother, Russel Card; son, Matthew Card; father and mother in law, Lawrence and June Weinert; siblings in law, Ted Wend, Dennis McKellar, Norm Griffith, Sandra and Gordon Young, Lorrie Weinert, Duane, Elsie Weinert, Jim Clark, and MaeLynn Delaney.
A service will be held for Michael at Buresh Funeral Home in Au Gres, Michigan, on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 1:00 PM. The family will welcome the public for a period of visitation from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM. Following the service, Michael will be cremated per his wishes.
