In Loving Memory of Michael Vincent Carr
Michael Vincent Carr was born on October 14, 1976, to Betty and Jim Carr. He was the cherished younger brother of Michelle Carr. The Carr family made their home in Bohemia, New York, where Michael enjoyed a happy and active childhood riding BMX bikes, playing soccer, baseball and hockey. Surrounded by the love of family and friends, he created cherished memories that lasted a lifetime.
Michael began learning his trade while attending Connetquot High School. He enrolled in the BOCES program, earning a certificate in Electrical and HVAC. A proud member of the Class of 1994, he continued his education at Lincoln Technical Institute in New Jersey, where he obtained his HVAC license.
Following graduation, Michael began working for Quinn & Feiner Service Company, where he dedicated 24 years as a master HVAC technician. But Michael’s skills extended far beyond his profession. He was always willing to lend a hand to family, friends, and neighbors. If you knew Michael, there’s a good chance he fixed something in your home. He was known for his generosity, dependability, and willingness to help at any hour.
Michael met Stephanie Pitka in high school, and the two became sweethearts. They married on November 24, 2001 and on September 28, 2006, they welcomed their son, Trevor, completing their loving family. Together with their dogs and a bunny, they built a home filled with laughter and cherished memories in Ronkonkoma, New York. Michael was the beloved "FUNcle," always ready to spoil and entertain the children in his life.
Tragically, on March 17, 2024, Michael and Trevor suffered the heartbreaking loss of their beloved wife and mother, Stephanie Pitka Carr.
Just over a year later, on May 3, 2025, surrounded by his son, father, and father-in-law, Michael passed away peacefully. His legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Trevor’s scholarship fund, honoring Michael and Stephanie’s legacy of love and devotion to their son. Contributions can be sent to: Michele Erdman, 447 8th Street, Bohemia, NY 11716, who will ensure they are directed appropriately to support Trevor’s future.
The nightly ceremony in Washington, D.C. will be dedicated in honor of your loved one on the day of your choosing.
