Daniel Farkas Obituary

Dan was a proud graduate of Connetquot High School Class of 1981, SUNY Oneonta Class of 1985, and the SUNY College of Optometry Class of 1989. He went on to build a respected career as an optometrist with Long Island Eye Care, where he was dedicated to serving his patients and colleagues with compassion and skill.
Dan's greatest joy was being a father to his children, Alexandra and Zachary Farkas, who were the center of his world. For the past 11 years, he also shared his life with his devoted home health aide, Roni Rameshwar, whose love and loyalty never wavered.
Dan will be remembered for his compassion, kindness, intelligence, quiet humor, of course his love of football, and the determination with which he faced life's challenges. He leaves behind so many lives that he touched. Family, friends, colleagues, and patients who will deeply miss him and carry forward the lessons of mental fortitude and perseverance he embodied.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Ruland Funeral Home in Patchogue, with burial to follow on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at St. Charles Cemetery.
