WATERBURY- It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Michael A. Cestaro, age 71, of Waterbury, share the news of his peaceful passing on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at Civita Care Center in Cheshire. He was the husband of Flora D. (Digliani) Cestaro.
Michael was born in Waterbury, Connecticut, on June 17, 1954, the son of the late Fiere Cestaro and Mary E. (Colangeli) Cestaro. He started his career as a tool setter at Timex, later he dedicated his life to his passion for landscaping. He worked for a variety of different companies and later became the proud owner of MC Landscape in Waterbury. He was known for his meticulous work and unwavering dedication to his craft. Beyond his professional achievements, he cherished time spent with his family. He found joy in traveling to Cape Cod to visit relatives and to go fishing with his cousin, Ed, riding the dunes in Provincetown, and traveling to Hammonassett State Beach. A lover of animals, especially his cats, Michael also had a soft spot for Dairy Queen treats and he was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys—his enthusiasm for the team was infectious.
Besides his wife Flora of 44 years, left to honor and cherish his memory are his siblings; Susan Rodrigues and her husband Joseph of Naugatuck, Anne Kinder of Cromwell, Albert Cestaro of Naugatuck, Angela Engratt and her husband Michael of Cromwell, Raymond Cestaro and his wife Lori of Waterbury, Joseph Cestaro and his significant other Lisa and Francis Cestaro and his wife Laura all of Cape Cod, MA and his brother-in-law, Michael Digliani and his wife Jacqueline of Waterbury. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Scott Kinder.
As we reflect on Michael's life, we remember a man who valued love, laughter, and connection above all else. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication and warmth that will resonate within the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love him. May he rest in peace.
