WATERBURY - It is with profound sadness that the family of William C. Affhauser age 85 of Waterbury, share the news of his peaceful passing on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at The Cheshire House of Waterbury surrounded by his loving family.

William was born on May 3, 1940 in Waterbury, the son of the late William H and Ruth M. (Brownell) Affhauser. He was a lifelong resident of Waterbury, educated in local schools and worked for over 30 years for the City of Waterbury in the Refuse Department. Bill had a great sense of humor, always ready with a joke or two. He enjoyed puzzles of all types and was an avid car enthusiast. However, Bill’s greatest joy was found in the time he shared with his family and friends, treasuring each moment together and the many memories they created.

As we come together to honor his beautiful life, may we continue to live by the love and lessons he so freely gave, keeping his spirit alive in our hearts always.

Left to honor and cherish his memory are his siblings; brothers, Robert of Waterbury and Edward and his wife, Ruth of Columbia CT, sisters; Shirley Montory and her husband Daniel of Myrtle Beach SC,  Doris Affhauser and Marsha Muir, both of Waterbury. He also leaves several nieces and nephews, especially his niece Deborah who cared for him for so many years. Bill’s family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff at the Cheshire House, as well as those from Constellation Hospice, for the care and love they shared with Bill and his family throughout his illness.

Funeral services for Mr. Affhauser will be held privately at the convenience of his family. Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main Street, Waterbury, CT 06705 has been honored to assist the Affhauser family during this difficult time.
