Michael A. Chisarick, 86, of Forty Fort, passed away at his home on Friday, July 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Michael was born in Kingston, on May 29, 1939, son of the late Michael and Antonina Mullay Chisarick. He was a graduate of Luzerne High School, where he was class president in his junior and senior years, as well as a member of the band. He graduated from Wilkes-Barre Business College and took a job with Charles L. Snyder & Co. as an apprentice for Charles Snyder (now Snyder and Clemente). He continued his education in the evenings at Wilkes and King's colleges.
He was a member of the Forty Fort Kiwanis Club for more than 20 years and served as president for two terms. He received the Kiwanian of the Year Award in 1990. In 1992, he left public accounting and became chief financial officer of Grotto Pizza in Delaware and returned to Snyder and Clemente in 1997. He served as treasurer of the Forty Fort Recreation Board and President of Ridgley Vibrated Block Co., West Wyoming, for eight years and treasurer of the Brandywine Commons Association of Restaurants, Wilmington, Del., for more than 25 years. He also served as Secretary of Strategic Litigation Research Inc.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Charles.
Michael is survived by his wife, Jean, with whom he would have celebrated 65 years of marriage in a few short days; children, Michael, Luzerne; Jacqueline Liguori and husband, Michael, Forty Fort; and Lisa Jones and husband, Steven, Bear Creek; as well as grandchildren, Michael and Lauren Chisarick, Mario Liguori, Nina Pappas, and Hunter and Leah Jones; and great-grandchildren, Everett and Elyse Pappas and Isabella Liguori.
Family and friends are invited from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes St., Swoyersville. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at the church with Father John Chmil officiating. Interment will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery, Swoyersville.
