Michael John Cieslak, fondly known to family as MJ, was a beacon of light to all who knew him. Born on April 18, 1985, in Bismarck, ND, Michael's charismatic personality and humorous spirit were evident from a young age. His infectious laughter and boundless energy turned ordinary moments into unforgettable memories. As a chef, he combined his love for cooking and his generous heart to create dishes that were not only delicious but filled with love. His chili, a well-known favorite, even won a cook-off, marking one of his many culinary achievements.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Amy Cieslak; his cousins, Garrett, Allison, Jordan, Sean, Zachary, Hayden, Hailey, and Braydon; uncles and aunts, Scott and Anell Cieslak, Dan and Julie Cieslak, Gary and Shelley Harper, Janelle Pepple; and his grandfather, Sheldon Cieslak. He is also survived by his father-in-law, Lee; mother-in-law, Carla; brothers-in-law, Adam and Aaron; sister-in-law, Tabetha; and his stepbrother, Brandon Moser. He was loved dearly and will be missed immensely by his family, friends, and pets. He is preceded in death by his mother, Stacy John; and grandmother, Janice Cieslak. In the words of Dr. Seuss, "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened." This quote perfectly encapsulates the spirit of Michael's life – a life filled with love, laughter, and fond memories.
Michael’s Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy. As we come together to celebrate Michael's life, we remember a loving, compassionate, and funny man who made every room he entered a little brighter. His love for hiking with his wife and dogs, playing the guitar, watching food shows, and, of course, cooking are memories we will hold dear. Please join us in remembering Michael by sharing your stories, photos, and memories on his memorial page. As we mourn the loss of our beloved Michael, we also celebrate the joy and love he brought into our lives. His spirit lives on in the stories we share, the recipes we recreate, and the love we continue to hold for him in our hearts.
