Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lary Funeral Home - Dover-Foxcroft on Jul. 5, 2024.
Anderson, SC - Michael "Mike" William Coiley, 55, passed away on the 8th of May, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones in a hospital in Anderson, South Carolina. Mikes' cardiac illness was brief and sudden but fortunately his children, parents and siblings were able to be there with him in his final days.
Mike was born in Portland, ME, but grew up and spent a majority of his time in Hudson, Maine. Mike moved down to Anderson, South Carolina, about ten years ago after his children were grown. He made a whole new community of friends and family down there. Whom all grew to know and love Mike, and his "new" southern accent, that he did so well. Mike was a beautiful father, a loving son, a caring brother and a loyal friend. Mike was known for a lot of amazing qualities: his infectious laugh, his hard work ethic, his captivating stories, his competitive nature, his likable personality and ability to become friends with anyone he met. Mike was also very well known for being a generous and helpful man, always willing to lend a hand or help someone in need. This was no different in his final moments of life, Mike was able to generously donate his organs and tissues to help save multiple lives.
Mike was predeceased by many loving family members, including his very special Gramp Coiley. Mike is survived by his adult children, Cody Coiley and Mackenzie Coiley; his parents, Allan and Maggie Hussey; his brother, Andrew Coiley and his wife, Jody; sister, Stephanie Kepple and her husband, Eric; and brother, Sean Hussey and his wife, Justina; along with many loved nieces and nephews, with many more family and friends in Maine. Mike was also survived by all of his dear friends in South Carolina including those extra special to him, Brittany and her boys.
There will be a graveside service at Lawndale Cemetery in Old Town, ME, at 10 a.m. on August 10, followed by a celebration of life in Old Town at Binnette Park at 11 a.m.
