Michael Coler Obituary

In loving memory of our father, Michael V. Coler, 73, of Levelland, Texas, who peacefully passed away on September 30, 2025, at Whisperwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lubbock, TX, surrounded by his loving family.

Michael was born on May 13, 1952, to Hal W Coler and Helen (Lally) Coler in Lake Andes, South Dakota. He graduated from Lake Andes High School in 1970, and in May 1976, he married the love of his life, Carol L Coler, in Springfield, South Dakota.

Growing up, Michael was always there for us, offering help with computer homework or a comforting shoulder to cry on. A man of firm conviction, steady in the Catholic faith, he instilled in us the importance of family, hard work, and doing what is right.

Our father was a kind, caring, and giving person who prioritized his family's needs. He faced every challenge with courage and dignity, inspiring us all. Michael will be deeply missed by everyone whose life he touched and remembered for the love he shared with his family.

He found solace in his Catholic faith and enjoyed working with computers. Michael was a skilled drafting instructor, teaching both hand-drawn and computer-aided drafting throughout his career.

Predeceased by his spouse, parents, his brothers Kevin and Lee, and his sister Theresa. Michael is survived by his three children: Christina (Charles) Combs, Panama City, FL; Robin Coler, Levelland, TX; and Lisa Bishop, Amarillo, TX; his cherished granddaughter, Echo Bishop; and his siblings: Ted (Linda) Coler, Norfolk, NE; Becky (John) Webber, Billings, MT; Cindy Haar, Sioux Falls, SD; and Shannon (Sue) Coler, Sioux Falls, SD. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Michael, you will always be in our hearts, and we will never forget you. We love you so much. Rest in peace.

A memorial Mass will be held at St. Michael's in Levelland on October 10 at 11 a.m.
