Michael "Mike" Wayne Collier 73 years of Grandview died at his home Saturday, September 27,
2025 with his wife and sons at his side. Michael was born in Fort Worth, TX on November 19,
1951. He was the second son of Arthur Collier and Patsy Ruth McCaleb Collier. Mike lived in
Arlington, TX most of his youth. He attended Kooken Elementary and Nichols Jr. High and was
involved in many sports. Later he graduated from Sam Houston High School class of 1970.
During high school he was a photographer for the Air Force Jr. ROTC and a member of the
photography team. His love for photography helped shape his life.
Mike was a very hard worker and provider. He worked for the City of Arlington from 1970 –
2000 when he retired with 30 years' service. He would also umpire for both softball and
hardball, even scorekeeping occasionally. He returned to work for the City of Fort Worth Public
Works Department and worked there until he retired at 65. Mike raised his family in south
Arlington for 29 years, two years in Lockhart and his final years in Grandview. After retirement
the photography bug hit again. He had the privilege of videoing his grandkids' sports activities.
He also videoed the Blum Bobcat football team and was very proud to be a part of their
becoming state champions.
Mike and Edie raised their boys in sports and horses, both which he videoed as much as possible.
The family belonged to the NARC&SP for 49 years. His three horses Taxi, Tali and Tazor were a
big part of his love of riding.
He met his wife, Edie, in August 1970. They were married on September 4, 1971 just one year
later. They were married for 54 years. He was also a very proud father of three wonderful boys,
Michael Jr., Thomas and Steven.
Mike is survived by his wife Edith (Edie) Moore Collier, sons Michael Jr., and wife Robin,
Thomas Collier, Steven Collier and wife Jamie. He was preceded in death by his parents and
three brothers. Mike leaves behind five grandchildren, Cody Miller and wife Emily, Kelli
Strange and husband Cullen, Blake Bonds and wife Molly, Seth Collier and Morgan Collier. As
well as great grandchildren Cheyenne and Brody Strange, Scarlett Bonds, and Bostyn Miller. In
addition to many family and friends.
