It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Michael Conner, former Chief of Police of Lake Arthur, who peacefully left us on August 14, 2024. Born in Lake Arthur, LA on October 13, 1944, he devoted his life to serving and protecting his community.
Michael will be dearly missed by his loving spouse Judy Conner, his dear siblings Lucille LeJeune, Margie Buerman, and Terry Conner, Daughters and sons-in-law, Carla (Reggie) Young and Connie (Bennett) Schexnider; son and daughter-in-law, Will (Emily) Trahan; grandchildren and great grandchildren, countless friends and colleagues. He leaves behind a legacy of bravery, integrity, and dedication to his work in the field of law enforcement.
The funeral services to honor Michael's life will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church on August 16, 2024, at 3:00 pm. A public viewing will begin at 9:00 am in Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur, followed by a Cursillo Rosary at 1:00 pm. Burial will be in Andrus Cove Cemetery.
In memory of Michael's years of service and commitment, we invite all who know him to join us in cherishing his memory and celebrating a life well-lived. May he rest in peace.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Hilda Conner; brothers, Alex Conner, Jr., Ted Conner, Emery Conner, Donald Conner, Douglas Conner and sisters, Thelma Schexnider, Judy Istre, Earline Doucett, Betty Price and son, Carl Trahan.
