Troy David Trahan, 56, of Lake Arthur, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at his home on October 10, 2025, surrounded by the family he cherished more than anything on earth. Born on October 25, 1968, in Jennings, Troy built a life defined by love, laughter, service, and a joy for the simple things.

He was most proud of carrying forward the generational legacy of Trahan Construction, leading with character, integrity, and heart. To Troy, building wasn’t just about business, it was about people. He mentored many throughout his career, guiding others with encouragement, opportunity, and a belief in their potential. His leadership also extended into the community through his service with numerous organizations, especially the Community Foundation of Southwest Louisiana, where he poured his energy into strengthening the region’s future.

A devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Troy always put others first, even if he did it with a bit of mischief and humor. Whether golfing, cooking a favorite meal, dancing, or relaxing to smooth jazz and oldies, he approached life with passion, warmth, and just the right amount of sarcasm.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Roxanne Trahan; his children, Lauren Fournet (Jean), Kade Trahan (Kali), Christian Trahan, and Hannah Trahan (Zach); his grandchildren, Harleigh, DJ, Trustin, Lakyn, Abri, and Eli; his brother, Tim Trahan (Shantelle); and other beloved family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Dale “Frere” Trahan and Eula Dean Arabie Trahan.

Troy had a gift for making everyday moments memorable. He could light up a room with a story, a dance move, or a perfectly timed remark, and in true Troy fashion, he left one last joke behind: “Don’t let Mom write my obituary, it’ll be too sad.”

Though he has left this world, his laughter, love, mentorship, and legacy will be carried on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Arthur with Fr. Jude Fernando TOR officiating. A burial will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery in Lake Arthur
