Mr. D... a teacher I will never forget. Mr. Donofrio was one special teacher that knew every student by their first name. He would joke with you in the hallways and also in class, but he stood his grounds when it came to classwork. He would give you his honest opinion of your school work and also encourage you to do better and congratulate you when you accomplish your goals. He will never be forgotten.

He was my English teacher. He inspired me so much. He would remind me of what I could do if I applied myself and if was kind to myself. He was different, he was cool yet held authority in a way that very few teachers did . As a young AA teenager, he found a way to relate to me w/o trying to "related to me" he was my favorite teacher ever. I thought about him last year but didn´t know how to find him. Hearing of his passing saddens me, I keep him and his family in my heart and prayers . Yeah the angels English Mr D!!

Wow. I had just asked about Mr. D about a week ago. I'm a graduate of 1986 and had always thought that Mr. D was cool. He was smart, energetic, and hip to the things that the students had going on; especially music. I saw him several years after graduation, and he remembered me. One of the coolest and hip teachers ever! Rest well Mr. D, and thank you. You will never be forgotten

Mr D'Onofrio was the best English teacher I had the pleasure of having, he is/was a GREAT man. I mean while in school and even after I went to him for a lot. My last encounter with him was a telephone call last year and we spoke briefly I found out how he was and I told him about me... I wanted to see him again, but didn't get the chance. I will always remember his trueness, his cuss words, and mostly him just being him..
I LOVE YOU MR D, PATRINA HICKMAN-JOHNSON

I am beyond a loss for words. D; JUST D as I would call him and he I because my name started with a D. We had an instant connection and he fostered growth in each one of his students as if they were his own. He was one of the few in which you sought him out and couldn´t wait to get to his class. He simply made learning fun! It never stopped at the classroom door but spilled into the hallways if you ran into him. His smile was contagious as he wore it like a new pair of kicks that allowed him to float. He would often cross my mind - even more so as I followed in his footsteps and became a teacher as well and also his coworker. The memories we shared as now I was a grownup and had a different perspective. TRUST that he will NEVER be forgotten. Love you D!

My heart is broken beyond measure. Mr. D, possessed an incredible gift of appreciating each human as they were. He taught so much more than English, he taught dedication, perseverance, passion and how to exude pure Joy for life. So many positive memories to cherish.
The love your student body shares for you is matched only by the love you had for us. It is clear you were doing what you loved. Sleep in perfect peace Mr. D. Thanks for the LVE and tremendous example of a beautiful spirit.
