Michael Harvey Dana, age 82, passed away peacefully at home on November 6th, 2024. He was born in Phoenix, Arizona February 6th, 1942 to Harvey and Greta Dana. He was raised in Mesa where he lived his life until he retired to his cabin in Greer, Arizona.
Mike "MH", attended Mesa Junior High School where he met the love of his life, Bennie Smith. They went on to attend Mesa High School and ASU together. Mike and Bennie were married April 18, 1962 and enjoyed 62 wonderful years of marriage. Mike and Bennie had 6 kids, and raised them sitting in a saddle with a fishing pole in their hands. Mike's love for horses and the outdoors was passed on to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His family always came first and his legacy lives on through them in their love of being outside enjoying all this beautiful earth has to offer.
Mike's family members include his wife Bennie Lue Smith Dana and their kids and grandchildren; Vicki and Jared Takeuchi and their kids Michael (Stephanie) Takeuchi, Daniel Takeuchi, Nichole Takeuchi and her son Jonathan Takeuchi. Samuel & Andrea Dana and their daughters Kaylee Rieck and Sarah Dana, Michael Lyn Dana (deceased), Leslian Dana, Andrew Dana (deceased) and his daughter Sienna Dana, Linda & Paul Kuhn and their kids Heather Cluff, Samantha Kuhn and Jimmy Kuhn.
In addition, his siblings, Stephen (Karolyn) Dana (both deceased), Greta Ann (Ken) Winsor, Duane (Janis) Dana, Mark (Angela) Dana, and Matt (Nancy) Dana.
A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on November 27th at 10:00AM at the Mesa Cemetery.

Dear Bennie. So sorry to hear of Mike's passing. He was a good friend in high school, and although we had not had contact since then I have good memories of our friendship. May God bless you and your family. Jim Kinsey
