Michael Vernon "Mike" Davis

Mr. Michael Vernon "Mike" Davis, 74, of Ft. White died on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at the HCA Florida North Florida Hospital. A native of Lake City, he was the son of the late Vernon Davis and Mary Mikell Davis and was a graduate of Columbia High School Class of 1969. Mike married his high school sweetheart Recie Kennon on June 18, 1972 at the First Presbyterian Church and started his lengthy career as a maintenance manager at Occidental Chemical Company then transferring to North Carolina Phosphate Company in 1980, and then Agrico later known as Mosaic in Lakeland, Florida and retired in 2014. He and Recie then relocated to Ft. White and resided on the Ichetucknee River where he currently lived. Mike served in the Florida National Guard for seven years, served on the church council at Ft. White Community Church, enjoyed playing Suduko, fishing, Gators sports fan, and mostly spending time with his beloved family.

Mike is survived by his wife of 53 years, Recie Kennon Davis; daughter, Jennifer Bonner; son, Jeffrey Davis and daughter in law Giana Tralongo; grandchildren, Kai, Kam, and Kennon Bonner, Dominic and Celeste Davis; mother, Mary Davis; brother, Bo Davis (Teresa); sister, Donna Kennington (Ricky); sister and brother in law Laura (Glenn) Hunter.

Celebration of Life Services for Mike will be held at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 3:00 P.M. with Pastor Mike Brecheen officiating. Visitation with the family will be held at the funeral home on Friday, September 12, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Ft.
