On May 2nd, shortly before 8:00pm, Michael DeBetta, husband, father, brother, musician and friend, went to our Heavenly Father. Michael was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Rose DeBetta; brother, Paul DeBetta; step-daughter, Patty Patterson. He is survived by his wife, Andrea Debetta, his three sons John DeDetta, Mike DeBetta, Bailey DeBetta; step-son, Robert Jayne; his granddaughter, Kaitlyn; step-grandchildren, Seth, Tristan, Bailey, Zacharias, Andrea, Jackie, George; his brother, Ritchie Debetta; several nieces, nephews and extended family. Mike was a long-time resident of Afton moving there from Long Island in the early 80's. Mike took great pride in being a member of the Afton community and served in many capacities in the local volunteer fire companies. He was an avid hunter, that's what brought him to the area. Mike loved to ride his motorcycle solo or with various clubs he belonged to. As a member of the Short Change Band where he played drums and sang lead vocals, Mike organized and helped raise money for various charities such as Chow and worked the kitchens on holidays to support his adopted community. In honoring Michael's wishes, services will be held privately.

The last time I seen Mike is when he came to Falmouth Ma About 1980 or so. The next time I saw Mike was in 2024 when my younger brother was in New York visiting his friend who knew Mike and lived in the same town. I got to chat with him for a while on FaceTime. To the Debetta family my deepest condolences. I grew up with Mike as my next door neighbor for years. Knew his mom and dad and his brothers. We hung out a lot together when we were young. The fast cars, custom vans, loud music, and partying were part of us growing up. The good memories and good times we had will never be forgotten. May you rest in PEACE my good friend you will be missed. Jim Alestra
