Michael A DeCarolis Sr.

Michael A. DeCarolis Sr., 90, of Frelinghuysen Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026.
He was born on June 15, 1935 in Dover, NJ, to the late Gabriel and Francis DeCarolis.
Mike was married to his beloved wife, Ruth DeCarolis for 72 years. The two met in Newton, NJ and were married in 1954. Beginning a lifelong partnership based on love, devotion and family. They made their home in Frelinghuysen Township in 1965, where Mike remained for the rest of his life.
He was the proud father of 5 Children: Michael DeCarolis, Jr., Alan Decarolis, the late Kathleen DeCarolis, Patty DeCarolis, and Cynthia Grant and her husband Mike. He is also survived by 5 grandsons - Michael, Keith, Alfred, Daniel, and Michael Grant. He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren.
Mike was predeceased by his brother Gabriel and is survived by his sister Caroline Dubord.
Mike was a skilled welder and self employed for many years. He was known for his physical strength, wisdom, and amazing story telling. Mike had a deep love of nature and wildlife, and had a deep connection with all species. A devoted bear lover he found peace and happiness surrounded by the natural world and nature's beauty. Mike's greatest legacy, aka Colonel, are his unforgettable stories that will live on in all of the hearts that knew him.
