Michael DellaVecchia Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brewer & Sons Funeral Homes - Michels & Lundquist Chapel from Mar. 30 to Mar. 31, 2025.
In Loving Memory of Michael Phillip DellaVecchia III
August 30, 1956 – March 30, 2025
Michael Phillip DellaVecchia III, 68, of New Port Richey, Florida, formerly of Morristown, New Jersey, passed away peacefully in his home on March 30, 2025.
Born in Morristown on August 30, 1956 to Eleanora (Querney) and Michael DellaVecchia Jr, Michael lived a full and vibrant life marked by kindness, humor, and a passion for the things and people he loved the most. He is survived by his son Robert (Whitney) DellaVecchia. Beloved family members left to cherish Michael's memory include his Aunt Barbara Ann, brothers Gary
and Scott, and several others who carry forward Mike's spirit and love for life.
Michael's curiosity and love of learning helped him to build a long and fulfilling career at the Honeywell (formerly Allied Signal) Corporation. He dedicated over 25 years to the company he proudly called home. He often spoke with deep appreciation for the work he did and the friendships he formed there throughout the years. His colleagues were more than coworkers-they were an extended family.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Michael found joy in both playing and watching the games he loved. Whether it was football or hockey, he passionately supported his hometown teams from New Jersey as well as his adopted teams in Tampa, Florida. But above all, golf was his true calling. An avid and dedicated golfer, Michael could be found on the Timber Greens Golf Course three to four times a week, rain or shine. The course wasn't just a hobby-it was his sanctuary. There, he formed deep friendships, especially with his beloved "Wilderness Group," whose companionship he cherished immensely.
Michael was the kind of person who lit up any room-or fairway-with his relentless optimism. He had an uncanny ability to find the silver lining in every situation and never missed the opportunity to lift someone's spirits with a perfectly timed joke or kind word. His warmth, positivity, and genuine nature left a lasting impact on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In accordance with his wishes, Michael's ashes will be spread in his favorite places-New Port Richey, Florida, and Long Beach Island, New Jersey-places that held special meaning to him and brought him peace. There will be no public service.
Michael will be deeply missed, but his laughter, his love for life, and the joy he brought to others will live on in all who knew him.
