Michael Deremer Obituary
Born in Morenci, AZ on February 24, 1951, he was a son of the late Alice Joy (McCoy) Miller. Michael loved living in Newark and had been a resident for 30 years. He worked at Goodwill of Delaware for over 50 years. Michael was a dedicated and loyal employee who loved his job.
Michael always looked forward to going out to eat and to the movies. In his spare time, he could often be found watching NASCAR. Michael enjoyed finding the perfect Hallmark card for his family and friends to make their season special. Most of all, he loved his family and cherished the time he spent with his brother, David. Michael will be dearly missed and his memory will live in his family's hearts forever.
Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Miller. He is survived by his brother, David C. Miller (Debbie) of Newark.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michael's memory to Goodwill Industries of Delaware & Delaware County, Inc., 300 East Lea Boulevard, Wilmington, DE 19802 (https://www.goodwillde.org/).

Michael, you are `the person´ we all should be, PEACE be with you,
as you rest. You sir, should go down in Newark´s history as an icon and true Humanitarian - a leader of positivity.
I had been gone from Newark for 20+ years (a few years back) when I spotted you taking a break, outside Goodwill. You never changed. I knew I had to stop and say, `hello´ even though, I knew you would not remember me but, to my surprise, as I walked up, you never missed a beat, "Oh, Hi there Gail". I´m not sure you know how remarkable YOU made me feel. You taught us perseverance, you showed your kindness from your heart and never complained, you became everyone´s friend wherever you went. You are "Mr Goodwill" to many Delawarean´s; Newark´s Public Officials need to name a street in your honor!!!
We always went in hoping to see you- So, `Thank you´ for caring about all of us and I know, God´s taking good care of you and you are using your talents wisely, as you will remain a gift for our souls.
I´m back in TN now, but, I hope to see you again `someday´ when I´m in the streets of Heaven.
