Michael J. DeVito age 67, beloved son of Margaret and the late Albert; loving dad of Michael G. (Ashley) Devito and Stephanie
( Philip) Parker; forever friend of Denise Devito; cherished brother of Albert (Barbara) DeVito; Sandra (the late Conrad)
(Rick Burd) Hauser and Mark (Margarita) DeVito; dear uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Michael will be remembered for his great sense of humor, and his deep love of family and friends. He had an uncanny ability to bring his unique comedic outlook to the most mundane or serious situations, and make us all laugh.
He developed strong business relationships in his work as the VP in electronic sales for AL&W Sales. His knowledge of Spanish enabled him to negotiate wisely with our Mexican partners. He enjoyed the camaraderie, travel, and entertaining of customers and principals of our US, Mexican, & Taiwanese associates. He had the ability to understand, adapt and communicate through cultural differences and make lifetime friends with our various business partners.
In his spare time, he once enjoyed flying and acquired his pilot's license to further develop that skill. He enjoyed playing golf with friends, and he loved to cook! He was a great cook and loved to experiment and try new recipes, which he would share at family events.
He was a devoted son and loved delivering his mother with her weekly supply of Dove ice cream bars. He kept Fannie May in business every holiday by giving all of the ladies their chocolates! He developed a sweet tooth himself and shared his favorite dessert recipes with his sister.
He was looking forward to his grandchildren's' arrival. Ashley and Michael Jr. will be expecting a baby boy in mid-January, and Stephanie and Phil will be expecting a baby girl in April.
We will all miss him deeply.
Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, December 21, 2024, from 9:00 A.M. until Time of Service at 11:00 A.M.at Colonial - Wojciechowski Funeral Home, 8025 W. Golf Road, Niles. Donations to woundedwarriorproject.org are appreciated. For information 847-581-0536
