Michael Vern DeWaters

Micheal Vern DeWaters, also known as Happy Vern and Mikey, passed away on May 6, 2025 in Jackson, Michigan at 71 years old. Michael was born January 5, 1954 in Jackson to parents Milo and Virginia DeWaters.
Michael is survived by his children, Daryl Winningham and son Alex, Jeffery DeWaters and daughters Harper and Amellia, Patricia (Michael) Lyons and son Orin, Joshua (Pam) Kensler and daughter Lucy, David Kensler and son Ezra; siblings, Sue (Larry) Ruede, Jeannine (Don) Hemry ; niece, Cheryl (Kathy) Ruede; nephews, Gary (Doris) Ruede and son Branden, Justin, Jacob (Brittany) Hemry, Tristan, Remington, Endsley, Waverly, Kylan, Trevor, and Alex Hemry; along with numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Michael is preceded by his former wife, Deborah Winningham; his parents, Milo and Virginia DeWaters; grandparents, Sammuel and Hazel DeWaters, Ethel and Vern Manchester; along with his sister, Linda Darlene; nephew, Justin Kyle Hemry; and his special friends, Jeff and Cathy Phelps.
Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of life held at a later date.
Michael leaves behind many special friends who have cared for him throughout the years, and a special thank you to all the staff, especially Andy.
