Michael "Mickey" Edward Dewey passed on Friday, October 31, 2025 at the Memphis Convalescent Center in Memphis, Texas at the age of 58.

He was born on May 30, 1967 in Abilene, Texas to Tom and Mary Snider Dewey and grew up in Haskell, Texas. After high school Mickey embarked on one of his greatest adventures, working for his uncle's pipeline company in a remote area of Alaska. After returning home he attended Texas Tech University where he graduated in 1998 with bachelor's degrees in Sociology and English. Mickey eventually began working in the environmental sciences industry where he worked for several different companies over the years with his last job being for the City of Dallas. He resided in Irving, Texas before recently returning to Childress, Texas in June of this year to be near family while dealing with serious health issues.

Mickey was passionate about his Native American heritage and while living in the Dallas area became involved in American Indian community there. He was an avid model builder and Star Wars collector and enjoyed camping and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Mary Dewey of Childress and survived by his wife, Wanda Estrada of Irving, sister, Lynn Dewey and brother, Tim Dewey and wife Amanda all of Childress.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 8 at 2:00 in the Fellowship Hall of the First Baptist Church in Childress.
