Mr. Michael Peter DoBoze, age 75, of Butlerville, Indiana entered this life on December 20, 1946 in Ogdensburg, New York. He was the loving son of the late Stephen and Helen Deno DoBoze. He was raised in New York and attended John Carroll University and Cleveland State University to earn a Bachelor Degree in Psychology. He entered the United States Army on February 7, 1967 during the Vietnam War. He served with Company C, 5th Battalion, 6th Infantry, 1st Army Division. He received the Vietnam Service Medal with two bronze service stars, National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, and was Expert Rifle. He was honorably discharged as platoon sergeant on February 6, 1969 and served in the Reserves until February 6, 1973. His marriage blessed him with two sons and a daughter. He was an attendant at the Muscatatuck State Hospital for many years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in North Vernon, Indiana, a lifetime member of the AmVets and a member of the VFW Post 2021 in North Vernon. He enjoyed playing guitar, banjo, and mandolin. He often gave away instruments to children with musical potential. Michael died on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at his home in Butlerville, Indiana.
A LOVING FAMILY
Michael will be missed by his sons, Gunnard DoBoze of San Francisco, California, Stewart DoBoze & his wife Effie of Berlin; his daughter, Theresa DoBoze of Akron, Ohio; his grandchildren, Julienne and Mia DoBoze; his nephew, Jack Janack of Brecksville, Ohio; his sisters, Sharon Morley of Cicero, New York, Sandra Bice and her husband Mitchell of Fulton, New York, Shirley Donohue and her husband Bill of North Royalton, Ohio; his brother, Christopher DoBoze of Ogdensburg, New York; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Stephen DoBoze, his mother, Helen Deno DoBoze, his sister, Helen DeBoze, his brother, Stephen DeBoze.
PRIVATE BURIAL CEREMONY
Private burial will be Thursday, April 14, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Dupont Cemetery in Dupont, Indiana, officiated by Father Jerry Byrd.
MILITARY HONORS
Military honors will be conducted by the Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion.
MEMORIAL EXPRESSIONS
