Michael Conrad Doffing Sr.

Michael Conrad Doffing, age 64, of Oakdale, Minnesota, passed away on April 1, 2025.
Mike was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his daughter Melissa Strickler (Brian), sons Michael Jr. (Shari) and Daniel (Kia), and his cherished grandchildren Brandon, Maximilian, and Mackenzie. He is also survived by his sisters Deb Nook (Brian) and Gayle Erickson, as well as many nieces and nephews, his former wife and mother of his children, Amy Walker, and his lifelong friend, Paul Bednarek (Karen).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and JoAnn Doffing.
Mike dedicated many years of hard work to Valmont Industries, where he built not only a career but deep and lasting friendships. His coworkers often felt like a second family.
A self-taught magician, Mike found joy in sharing wonder with others-performing for his children's birthday parties, classrooms, and anyone lucky enough to catch a show. He loved the look of awe in the eyes of his audience, and it was clear that his magic came from the heart.
A lifelong fan of Alice Cooper and a passionate collector of baseball cards-especially those of Ken Griffey Jr.-Mike was honored in 2014 by Upper Deck as "One of Ken Griffey Jr.'s Biggest Fans." Known in the card trading community as "Magicpapa," he built lasting friendships and a strong reputation among fellow collectors.
Mike will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of Michael's life will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Oakwood Funeral Home, 2585 Stillwater Road E. Maplewood, MN 55119.
