Michael James Donahue Sr., 61, passed away peacefully at his home in Woodstock, NH, on Friday, July 25th, with his beloved wife, Bobbi, by his side after battling illness.

Born and raised in Lincoln and Woodstock, Michael was the devoted son of James and Mary Donahue, and a proud father, husband, and friend. From a young age, he embodied a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. While still in high school, he co-founded J & M Donahue Excavating with his father, laying the foundation for a lifetime of hard work and service to communities across New Hampshire. Over the years, Mike helped build countless bridges, sewer systems, and water infrastructure projects throughout the state—leaving behind not only structures but a legacy of integrity and dedication.

Mike met the love of his life, Bobbi, while they were both in high school in Lincoln. Together they raised three wonderful children—Nikki, Michael, and Abbi—who were the pride and joy of his life. When Michael JR. was in high school, he too started working alongside his father (and grandfather, James) on various excavation projects and learned about running a business from them.

Known for his larger-than-life personality and magnetic storytelling, Mike had a way of making friends wherever he went. He could travel anywhere in New Hampshire and bump into someone he knew from one of his many job sites and adventures, often sharing a tale that seemed too wild to be true—but always was.

He especially enjoyed spending winters in Florida and could often be found driving around town in his truck with his loyal dog, Paislee, riding shotgun.

Michael will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the many lives he touched over the years.

In honoring Mike’s wishes, the family will celebrate his life privately.
