Michael Ray "Mike" Dove

Mr. Michael "Mike" Ray Dove, age 74, of Shepherdsville, KY returned to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, August 30, 2025, with his family by his side. He was born in Pikeville, Kentucky on July 7, 1951, to the late Ray Dove and Betty Dove. Mike was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. His family was the center of his universe. He radiated happiness, kindness, and compassion, touching the lives of everyone around him. Mike grew up with a passion for sports. In his younger days, he was a truly gifted athlete, earning an All-Star title. His love of athletics stayed with him throughout his life, and he was never far from a TV when the UK Wildcats were playing. Off the field, Mike found peace in the quiet moments, especially with a fishing pole in hand. Fishing was one of his greatest joys, but nothing brought him more happiness than spending time with his family. He was a devoted family man, always putting his loved ones first and showing up when it mattered most. He also shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Baby. The two were nearly inseparable. Mike brought laughter, warmth, and light to every moment. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Larry Dove, and his daughter, Renea Logsdon.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Jo Ann Dove; sons, Todd Dove (Molly) and Chad Dove; daughters, Misty Dove-Gibson (Tim) and Missy Simon (Joe); grandchildren, Peyton (Shelby), Cameron, Eric, Cody, Shelby (Austin), Lauren, Jacob (Amber), Jackson, Mattie (Zach), Sammy, and Cooper; great-grandchildren, Miles, Max, Cora, Mark, Ben, Caroline, Lake, and Elora; very special friend, Gary Collins; cousin, Greg Matney; along with many other family and friends at Trailwood Lake.
The family of Michael Dove has chosen to honor his wishes of cremation with a private family service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Norton Cancer Institute (676 South Floyd Street Louisville, KY 40202).
