Michael E. Doxey, 70, of Alexandria, MN, passed away on January 9, 2025, in Nelson Care Center, Alexandria.

Michael Erling Doxey was born on July 4, 1954, in WestPoint, NY, to Fredrick and Loretta (Kaste) Doxey. Growing up Michael’s father was in the United States Army, so they traveled all over. He lived in New York, Germany, Boston, MA, Chicago, IL, Mahnomen, MN and Panama. When Michael was in High School, they settled in Moorhead, MN, where he attended Moorhead High School. After high school Michael worked as a farm hand for various farms until he was no longer able to work due to disabilities.

Michael enjoyed art and was great at drawing. He liked to play basketball and was in the canoeing club growing up. He had a love for good food, among his favorites being pizza and KFC. Michael was a very religious person attending church whenever he could. As he aged his disabilities became more challenging, but he always held on to his faith throughout the years. Michael was known to be quite the character. One of his most memorable characteristics is that he was a bit of a joker, with a great sense of humor.

Michael is survived by his brother, Dave (Julie); uncle, Harold (Barb) Kaste; aunt, Eileen “Tootie” (Kenny) Winter; brother-in-law, Richard Roehl, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick and Loretta; and sisters, Lynne (Dennis) Kovash and Marilyn Roehl.

Michael’s Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 3 PM, in Korsmo Funeral and Cremation Service, Moorhead, MN, with a visitation the hour prior. The burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Moorhead, at a later date.
