Michael Fahnestock Obituary

Portville- Michael Fahnestock of Portville passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Cuba Memorial Hospital, with family by his side.
Michael was born in Chambersburg, PA, the son of the late Ned and Betty Fahnestock. On July 6, 1963, he married his loving wife, the former Karen Sites, who passed away before him.
Michael was a 1958 graduate of Chambersburg High School and received his Master's Degree from Penn State in 1962. He then went to work for Bendix Aerospace in Townson, MD. The company was later acquired by Raytheon and, eventually, Honeywell. His best hobby was his family, which he loved. Michael was a Scout Master for years, and he received the Order of the Arrow of PA.
He is survived by his children, Daniel E. Fahnestock, Keith A. Fahnestock, Marybeth Fahnestock, and Linda Fahnestock; two brothers, David Fahnestock and Lynn Fahnestock.
Michael was predeceased by his loving wife, Karen, and a son, Matthew Fahnestock.
At Michael's request, there will be no formal services.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State St., of Olean. Online condolences may be expressed at www.guentherfh.com.
