It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael James Foster, who died surrounded by his family on May 24, 2025, at the age of 51. A memorial service in Michael's honor will be held at the United Methodist Church in Ellendale, Minnesota on Saturday, May 31, 2025. The family will greet visitors at 10:00 AM and services begin at 11:00 AM with Pastor Randy Cirksena officiating.
Born on April 21, 1974, Michael was adopted by Mark and Karol Foster at 10 weeks old, and raised in Ellendale, MN, where he filled his life with love and laughter.
Michael cherished his role as an uncle and was especially fond of his nieces and nephews. His love for family was unshakable, and his nieces and nephews will always remember the gift cards to McDonalds he would hand out at Christmas.
Michael was the kind of guy who never shied away from hard work. With an incredible work ethic, he was always the first to lend a hand to anyone in need. He had a kind soul and a gentle heart that drew people to him. Michael was truly passionate about the things he loved - cheering on the Twins or Vikings, visiting the Le Sueur County Power and Steam Show, or attending the Jesse James Days in Northfield. Michael was a gifted musician. He played instruments by ear, loved listening to music, and enjoyed attending concerts.
He is survived by his parents, Karol and Mark Foster; two brothers, Kurt (Libby) Foster and their children Claire and Cooper, Tony (Megian Bell) Foster and Megian's son Max; two sisters, Diana Foster and her son Evan Beckmann, and Amy (Joe) Louks and their children Connor, Aiden, Lydia, and Makayla. Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents.
