Michael Francin

Michael Patrick Francin, age 53, passed away unexpectedly and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his mother, Margaret “Peggy” Francin of Prospect Park, New Jersey; his father, Anthony Francin of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina; his oldest brother, Robert Francin, along with his wife Francesca and their children, Sofia and Ryan, of Wyckoff, New Jersey; and his brother David Francin, his wife Darlene, and their sons Sean Francin of Kinnelon and William Sullivan of Hopatcong, NJ.

Michael lived in Kinnelon for the past ten years and grew up in Prospect Park, New Jersey, where he attended school before graduating from Manchester Regional High School in 1991. He went on to graduate from William Paterson University and built a career in information technology, working as a desktop support manager at several organizations over the years.

Mike deeply loved his niece and nephews and was known as a gifted conversationalist. He had a rare ability to talk with anyone—about anything, or sometimes about nothing at all—and make them feel at ease. An avid biker, Michael logged more miles in a single month than most would in a lifetime. He also loved hiking and could often be found exploring far-flung trails throughout the Northeast.

Michael had a remarkable way of staying connected. He always knew what everyone was up to and delighted in sharing stories about cousins, friends, classmates, and their latest adventures. He was a kind, generous soul whose presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A visitation in celebration of Michael’s life will be held on January 6, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, New Jersey.
