Michael Barrett Fruen

Michael Fruen peacefully passed away in his sleep following an extended battle with cancer.
Michael Barrett Fruen was born in St. Paul MN in 1943 to Roger and Margaret Ann Fruen. He was the great grandson of Arthur Fruen, the founder of Fruen milling and Glenwood Englewood Water Company in Golden Valley.
Michael was preceded in death by his wife Sandy Berg Fruen and 2nd wife, Betsy Lund- Fruen, mother, Margaret Ann Kusske, father, Roger Alan Fruen, and brother, Chris Kusske. He is survived by sons, Todd, Chris and Andrew Fruen and Granddaughter Lilliana Rose, step children, Andre' Laurent, Mollie (Mark) Lund, James (Sarah) Lund, step grandson, Barrett Lund, brothers Doug Kusske(Lynn), Ross Fruen (Kristen), Dave Fruen (Lael), and sisters Katherine Floyd (Chuck), Martha Higgins (Patrick).
Mike's first employer was Honeywell and then he joined an Electrical Sales Agency, Lee Noonan, until founding Fruen's Electrical Sales in 1976. He did what entrepreneurs do, traveled, worked honestly, confidently and with commitment to the industry he served. His success was earned, no easy ride and was admired by the represented electrical manufactures, customers, and the competition for his attitude, believability, and passion for his life, friends, and business.
Mike was an exceptional downhill skier and could be found on the winter weekends at his home in the UP of Michigan, traversing the slopes and entertaining many family and friends. He also traveled to many ski resorts in North America and Europe, and always looked forward to spring skiing in Telluride, CO.
