Michael David Gibson

Michael "Mike" D. Gibson, 70, of Niles, passed away on September 20, 2025. Born on Valentine's Day in 1955 to David and Elaine (Klann) Gibson, Mike grew up in Niles and graduated from Niles High School in 1973. On March 24, 1990, he married Ramona Mori in his hometown, and together they built a life rooted in love, hard work, and community.

Mike was a lifelong farmer, known throughout the region as the "Hayking". He took pride in the land and the rhythm of the seasons, and his dedication to farming was matched only by his passion for snowmobiles. A proud member of the Four Flags Snowmobile Club, Mike could be found riding in winter snow or summer grass, often racing at Nimby Pond with a grin on his face and a competitive spark in his eye.

He served on the Berrien County Youth Fair tractor pull committee, where his love of horsepower and hometown tradition came together. Mike was also a devoted fan of Stan Warda and Hammerin' Hank, cheering them on with unwavering enthusiasm.

Above all, Mike was a family man. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ramona; his daughter, Hannah Gibson of Berrien Springs; his parents, David and Elaine Gibson; sisters, Pamela (Dennis) Hamilton of Niles and Sarah (Tom) Radford of Mt. Juliet, TN; and brothers, Mark (Michelle) Gibson and Dale (Shelly) Gibson, both of Niles. His steady presence, dry humor, and generous spirit will be deeply missed.

Honoring Mike's wishes, the family will gather privately to celebrate his life. Palmer Funeral Home – Hoven Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
