Angus Glen Gibson passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at the age of 97. He was born on September 12,1928 in Longview, TX to Angus Bolton Gibson and Bernice Koon Gibson and was the third child of four siblings.

While in high school, Glen helped design and build the Putt-Putt course on South Green in Longview and caddied at Pine Crest Country Club where he exceled in the golf game. Glen graduated from Longview High School in 1949. Then he worked as a door to door salesman in Dallas, TX and CA. While in CA, he joined the USAF and learned skills for radio & radar used on Air Force planes. His 20 years of service included time at AF Bases in San Antonio & Harlingen, TX, Albuquerque, NM, Belleville, IL, Crestview, FL, Bossier City, LA, Bermuda, & Merced, CA, Glen was a tail gunner in the Korean War and also served in Japan.

Glen married the love of his life, Wanda Sallee Gibson, on October 25, 1952 in Longview, TX. Together they had 4 children with each one born at a different AF base location. He retired from the USAF in 1968. The family moved home to Longview, TX where Glen began civilian work with RG LeTourneau Industry as an electrical technician. While there, he and an engineer built the first solid state equipment that enabled large heavy equipment to move huge logs.

The family built a home on family land in Longview where he continued his love of gardening. Later, Glen built several other homes to sell before retiring from civilian work. The couple moved to Emerald Bay in Bullard, TX in 2000. There Glen enjoyed his life long love of golf and Wanda also became a golfer. They both shot a hole-in-one while playing at Emerald Bay and were active members of Emerald Bay Community Church.

Glen accepted Christ as his Savior at age 16 at the First Christian Church of Longview. Glen & Wanda were married there in 1952. Throughout the years of travel with the AF, the family regularly attended Baptist churches. Glen rededicated his life to Jesus and was baptized for the second time in the Atlantic Ocean of Bermuda in 1962.

Glen is preceded in death by his parents, Angus B. Gibson & Bernice Koons Gibson and step-mother, Martha (Girlie) Whitehurst Gibson, Sisters; Reba Gibson Kulig, & Neda Gibson Cavender, brother, Paul Gibson $ granddaughter, Lauren Frazier. He leaves behind his half-sister, Diane Gibson Harshburger (Eric) of Longview. He is also survived by his 4 children; Daughters, Gail Gibson Muse (Merl/Bubba) of Bullard, TX & Tonya Gibson Frazier (Wayne) of Longview, TX, Sons, Robert Gibson (Michele) of Longview, TX & Terry Gibson of Pittsburgh, TX. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; Lindsey Frazier Pollard (John) of Emory, TX, Seth Muse (Kara) of Flower Mound, TX, Lacy Frazier of McKinney, TX, Tiffany Gibson Miller (Preston) of Klein, TX, Taylor Muse (Anastasia) of Cedar Park, TX, Trevor Gibson of Katy, TX, Ashlea Gibson Charlson (Luke) of Hallsville, TX and Brody Gibson (Shelbi) of Pittsburg, TX., as well as 7 great-granddaughters and 6 great-grandsons. Glen is also survived by many nieces & nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025 at Ten AM at Gum Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Rader Funeral Home from 2 to 4 pm Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mobberly Baptist Church of Longview, TX or Emerald Bay Community Church of Bullard, TX.
