Jakie June Gibson

Jakie June Tate Gibson, 91, of Ridgeland, Mississippi, formerly of Lake Village, AR passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at St. Dominic Health Hospital in Jackson, MS. She was born June 8, 1934, in Horatio, AR to her parents Jake D. Tate and Ritta "Essie" Pettigrew. Jakie enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was a member of Chicot Missionary Baptist Church, worked at Bank of Lake Village until she retired. She was a great mother and friend to many.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a son, Michael D. Gibson, a great granddaughter, Brynlynn A. Quattlebaum, great grandson, Zachary Michael Gibson, brothers, Lee S. Hilton, Jessie D. Sharp, William T. Tate, James F. Tate, Robert L. Tate, Carl D. Tate, and Jerry F. Tate, sisters, Ritta P. Tate Holiman, P. Elizabeth Tate Aaron, and Linda B. Tate Gosney.
She is survived by her two daughters, Theresa A. Gibson Murphy (Tommy) of Ridgeland, MS and Cynthia K. Gibson Ray of Crossett, AR. Grandchildren Christopher M. Gibson, Rebecca D. Ray, Leslie "Amber" Quattlebaum and Courtney E. Tipton. Great grandchildren Caitlin E. Quattlebaum Olson (Christian), River D. Quattlebaum, Zaylee A. Quattlebaum, Alanna J. Gibson, Arya M. Tipton, Layton A. Lee, John David Lee, Dawson Z. Lee. Great Great granddaughter, Mayzee Grace Olson.
Pallbearers are Dylan Quattlebaum, River Quattlebaum, Ronnie Tate, Billy Lee, Brad Gosney, Michael Tipton. Honorary Pallbearer, Christian Olson.
Visitation will be Friday, October 10, 2025, from 1-2:00 p.m. at Bishop-King Funeral Home Chapel. Immediately following will be the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. with Brother David Powers officiating. Interment will be at Holy Innocents Cemetery, Stuart Island Road, Lake Village, AR under the direction of Bishop-King Funeral Home.
