Mr. Michael W. "Mike" Gustafson, 60, of Williamsport, died peacefully on Saturday, March 09, 2024, at UPMC Williamsport Hospital.
Mike was born on October 1, 1963, at Jersey Shore Hospital to Bonna (Gephart) Gustafson Dunlap.
Mike is survived by his wife, Kathryn "Kathi" (Kuzio) Gustafson of Williamsport; a daughter, Rebekah Gustafson (Matthew Vargason, fiance) a son, Nathan Gustafson; his brother, Mark Gustafson; sisters, Cathy (Gustafson) Powell, Lisa (Dunlap) Bergan, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother, Bonna (Gephart) Dunlap, and father, W. Charles Gustafson, and stepfather, Henri Dunlap.
Mike graduated from South Williamsport High School in 1981 and attended the former Northeast Junior Christian College, previously located in Villanova, Pennsylvania. He furthered his education at Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas, graduating in 1988 with a B.S. in Ministry/Psychology Degree.
Mike used his degree to work with society's most vulnerable individuals through his employment at La-Sa-Quik Residential Treatment Facility as a line staff and later as a Clinical Program Specialist; Hope Enterprise as a Vocational Rehabilitation Program Specialist; and White Deer Run of Allenwood Rehab, as a Counselor 2.
Mike endured 47 years with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) resulting from a bicycle accident. This disease is also known as the "suicide disease"due to its constant burning pain to the affected limb. Mike participated in CRPS groups on Facebook, offering treatment suggestions and hope to those in despair.
Mike enjoyed reading, listening to music, and spending time with his family. Mike attended Lycoming Christian Church, where he served as an Elder.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a visitation on Thursday, March 14, 2024, starting at 10:00 a.m. at the Charles M. Noll Funeral Home. There will be a funeral service at 11:00 a.m., followed by a procession to Wildwood Cemetery for a Graveside service. Dr. Ryan Martin will officiate.
