Michael Preston Harris II, 42: son, husband, father of two, and friend to many, was in a tragic, fatal motorcycle accident on June 12, 2024. He was born on August, 8, 1981 to parents, Michael and Vivian Harris in Los Angeles, California. When he was 8, Mike's family moved to Louisville, Kentucky to plant roots and be closer to their extended family.
Mike attended homeschool and graduated from Harris Christian Academy in 1999. He then took interest in engineering and attended Jefferson Community College. More recently, he worked as a fitness trainer for 10+ years as well as a caregiver with Caring Excellence for 5+ years. Mike experienced "love at first sight" at a previous serving position when he met his now wife, Ashley; He just knew she was the one for him! They got married on October 14, 2017, and started a family, having two sons.
Mike brought life and peace into the room everywhere he went. He was a bright, joyful person who always wore a smile and encouraged those around him. He was constantly looking for ways to help, serve, and support others, always finding a way to make those around him feel special. He was a devout child of God, a man of strong faith, and a proud member of the Life of Faith Bible Church. He loved spending time with his family, volunteering his time at church, kickboxing, lifting, and staying active.
Michael was led into the gates of heaven by his brother, Adam Christopher Harris; grandparents, Stallard and Virginia Williams, JoAnn and John Harris, and two aunts, Stella (Cecil) Holloway and Priscilla Brown. His memory will be cherished by his loving wife of almost 7 years, Ashley Harris; his two beautiful sons, Jonah and Micah Harris; parents, Michael and Vivian Harris; his brothers, Don Trowell, Sr. and Christopher Harris, as well as a host of other family and friends who will all aspire to continue his legacy.
Visitation will be from 3:00pm - 8:00pm, Monday, June 17, 2024, at Life of Faith Bible Church (14200 Spegal Lane, Louisville, KY 40299) and from 10:30am - 12:00pm, Tuesday, June 18, 2024, with funeral service to follow at 12:00pm, and burial to take place at Floydsburg Cemetery (5600 Old Floydsburg Road, Crestwood, KY 40014).
In lieu of flowers, consider sending a donation to help support Michael's wife, Ashley, and their two children HERE.

Michael brightened our lives! He came to our home to help care for Carl and Roberta Fischer. He always greeted us warmly at church and I know I will see him in heaven.

Michael was one of my oldest brother Don's little brothers. I've known him my whole life and he was always fun to be around. He had such a Heavenly spirit and an amazing person. A great basketball player that was easy to guard cause all you had to do was tell him a funny joke and he was done for for the rest of the game lol my heart is broken and to be honest it still hasn't sunk in yet. My prayers, love and condolences go out to the family.

The first time i met Michael was at fitness 19 his place of employment at the time
i was around 10 and overweight and he was the only trainer near me that would help a kid my age. I started working with him and it was like he knew how to actually motivate me he made me a kid with mental anxiety and some one being overweight and helped me become a strong and physically fit person who wants a career in boxing do to his help.

Michael was born in LA, and I was able to be there for his birth. After they moved back home to Louisville KY, mostly everyone came home that was in CA. The boys would spend nights, weeks it didn't matter because I loved when my boys would come over. One day Mickey and I took the kids to school and he saw 2 kittens and wanted to keep them both. I'm not animal friendly but Mickey was so convincing that I/he put them both in car with us, and home they stayed for years. He loved the 2 kittens and we all got a custom to them. My kids thought I had lost my mind. Our home has always been their home. Mickey is home now, I'll see later Mickey.

Mike was a good family friend and brother to me. He was always concerned about me always caring and asking how I was doing. I decided to go see his parents not long ago and here comes Michael smiling and in such good spirits as always. Giving me a big hug. Mikey's kindness, caring and loving spirit was just what I needed. From the first day I met the Harris family He and all of them made me feel nothing less than family. So when I heard this tragic news I knew I had to honor my brother. My brother Mike Harris you will truly be missed. Our hearts and prayers our with your Wife ,children and our family. Love you always

MICHAEL WAS A MEMBER AT THE TIME WE MET. HIS MOM WAS THE COOK FOR OUR DINNERS AT HIGHVIEW BAPTIST.CHURCH. MICHAEL WAS SO KIND AND ALWAYS WAS WILLING TO HELP. OF COURSE HE WAS A YOUNGER LAD AT THAT TIME BUT WOULD COME TO THE GYM TO PLAY BASKETBALL. I WILL BE PRAYING FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY DURING THIS TIME.
