Dr. Michael Joseph Harrison Ph.D.

Dr. Michael Joseph Harrison, Ph.D., 37, of Alexandria, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at a friend's home in Milford. Born on November 22, 1987, in Newton, NJ, he was the son of the late Jack G. Harrison and Barbara A. (Drozd) Harrison-Dutko of McDonald, PA. Nine years ago, he married Kristin M. Ieraci, with whom he had a beautiful son, Gabriel.
Mike was a 2006 graduate of Delaware Valley High School. He later earned his PhD in Education from North Central University. He worked as a logistics coordinator with Seko Logistics MedTec in State College and was a music professor and guitar instructor at Juniata College, as well as giving private lessons at his home studio.
Mike was an amazing guitarist since he was a young child, his goal was to always impact the lives of those around him through the power of music and education. He was able to accomplish this lifelong dream of his and affect so many lives in a positive way. He was a published author and a lover of all things horror and Halloween. He had a love for animals and cherished his pets. He was a dedicated and loving father and husband. His son was his world and together, they shared a liking for sweets, often fulfilling the sweet tooth cravings together. Mike lived his life with perseverance and drive, from graduating high school to earning his PhD, publishing to teaching, and becoming a father, he did it all with pride.
Along with his wife, Kristin and son, Gabriel, Mike is survived by his mother, Barbara Harrison-Dutko of McDonald; his sister Megan Navratil and her husband, Doug, of Cecil, PA; nieces and nephews, Lucas, Ava, and Elsie; his maternal grandmother; in-laws, Gordon and Deborah Bauer; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is also survived by many friends and those whose lives he has touched throughout his very short 37 years on earth.
A Celebration of Life will held at a later date.
