Michael Ray Hawkins

Michael Hawkins, 67 of Bessemer City, NC, passed away September 14, 2024, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC.
He was born in Gaston County, NC, on February 19, 1957, to the late James and Ann Hawkins.
Mike was a member of West Fifth Avenue Free Will Baptist Church in Gastonia. Mike loved God, his loving wife and soul-mate Cherie, his family, his church, and his dog, Dillon. He loved old school cars and motorcycles. he loved all of his friends. He loved the mountains and the beach.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his step-father, Larry Gene Lewis; and his sister, Cathy Wilson.
Mike is survived by his wife, Cherie Hawkins; step-daughter, Ann Bowen; brothers, James Hawkins and wife Mary, Jeff Hawkins and wife Amy; a sister, Louise Walker; and a grandson, Wesley Brandon; many nieces and nephews; and several other extended family members.
A service to celebrate Mike's life will be held Sunday, September 29, 2024, at 3:00 pm, at the West Fifth Avenue Free Will Baptist Church, 2145 West Fifth Avenue, Gastonia, NC 28052. The service will be officiated by Pastor Justin Griggs.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Fifth Avenue Free Will Baptist Church, 2145 West Fifth Avenue, Gastonia, NC 28052.
