Michael Shane Hayes

Michael Shane Hayes, age 50, was born May 20,1975 and passed away Monday, July 21,2025 in Lexington. Michael was an employee with the City of Lexington Gas Department for 32 years and was very dedicated to his job. He died on the job doing what he loved. He is survived by 3 daughters; Allie Mae Minor, Abbie Hayes, and Addison Hayes, 2 sons; Spencer Bailey and Shane Hayes, his mother; Gail Hayes McPeake, 4 grandchildren; Jase Rooke, Haisley Minor, Baby Jay Minor, and Grayson Cagle, and special friend; Lana Segraves. He was preceded in death by his wife; Teresa Mae Hayes and his father; Orbin McPeake. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 24 at 1PM at Reed's Chapel with burial to follow in the Central Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 4PM-9PM and Thursday 9AM until time of service.
