With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kenneth Halters, affectionately known as "JAP," a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, proud Marine veteran, and lifelong friend to all. Kenneth passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025, at the age of 76, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty. Born on November 21, 1948 in Carroll County, TN. He is preceded in death by his parents JC (Cebe) and Alma Lee Halters. He leaves behind two siblings, his sister Angie James (Charles), and brother Kyle Halters. Kenneth lived a life marked by service, hard work, and wholehearted dedication to the people he loved. He served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps, a chapter of his life that shaped his deep sense of responsibility, honor, and resilience. Kenneth never met a stranger. He spoke to everyone, making fast friends wherever he went. Whether in a grocery store, on the sidelines of a game, or around a backyard grill, he had a way of making people feel welcome, seen, and heard. Above all else, Kenneth was his children's and grandchildren's number one fan. If you were at a game, a school event, or anything involving his family, you knew exactly where he was-he was the loudest, proudest voice in the crowd. His love wasn't quiet; it was passionate, joyful, and impossible to miss. He was a member of Middlefork Road Baptist Church. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lila Halters, and their children: Rudy Grice (Rebekah), Gina Clark, Wes Halters (Alex), Lila Montgomery (Jason), and Felicia Simpson (Joe). He was a proud grandfather to 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him endless pride and joy. His spirit also lives on in his extended family and wide circle of friends, all of whom were touched by his warmth, humor, and loyalty. A celebration of Kenneth's life will be held on Wednesday, July 30 at Reeds Chapel in Lexington, TN beginning at 1PM with burial at Jones Cemetery in Wildersville, TN with military honors. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday 1PM-9PM and Wednesday 10 AM until service. All are welcome to gather and honor the unforgettable life of a man who gave everything to the people he loved. Semper Fi, Kenneth. You served with honor, loved with strength, and lived with joy. Your legacy will echo in our lives forever.
