RICHMOND, IN– Michael G. Haynes, age 69, of Centerville, Indiana, died Thursday, February 26, 2026, at home.

Born July 31, 1956, in San Antonio, Texas, to Jerry Richard and Beulah Joyce Mikesell Haynes, Michael lived in this community most of his life. He was a graduate of Richmond High School and worked as a shipping clerk in manufacturing. Michael was a member of First Baptist Church. He loved Harley Davidson motorcycles, bowling with a perfect 300 game, photography, and was an avid collector of many things.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Haynes; sons, Harvey W. (Amy Marie) Steele II and Quentin Jay Steele; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Jo Steele and Matthew W. Steele; great-grandchildren, Brynlee Starr Steele and Mattilyn Jane Steele; and sisters, Jerri Martin and Jodie Haynes.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Jeff and Eric Haynes.

A memorial visitation will be held on March 14, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 109 Matte Harris Rd., Centerville, Indiana. Memorial Service will follow with Rev. James Girdley officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to: Wayne County Area Chamber of Commerce, Centerville Playground, 33 S. 7th St., Richmond, IN 47374.
